1955 Pontiac - Star Chief

Every car has an interesting history. For the 1955 Pontiac it was their introduction of their 1st Overhead valve V/8 Engine.
My 1955 was originally delivered to Richard Bros. Motors the Pontiac Dealer in Pulaski, New York. Being a small town dealership and the most deluxe model it was used as a demo to sell the all new car for 1955. This probably accounts for why it was equipped with so many accessories. Richard Bros. kept this car for family transportation after 1955 and finally sold it to another Pontiac dealer around 1980. It had been off the road since 1963 due to being involved in an accident causing front end damage. I worked at Burdick Pontiac & GMC as the body shop manager at the time of purchase. Knowing my expertise in antique cars I was asked to evaluate the car for purchase by the owner. Upon my inspection of the vehicle it was found to also include a 1955 Pontiac Chieftain 870 4-door Station Wagon and both appeared a good investment for the asking price and the cars were bought. I inspected and transported the cars back to the dealership on my own time and had an agreement if they wanted out of the cars I would have first right of refusal for pay back of my free time used. This came to work out a couple of years later when the cars was offered to me. I acquired the cars on December 20th,1982. The floors were pretty rotten and the engine was seized in the wagon so I sold it in 2003. I have collected many parts and have started work on the hardtop.
It is really neat to find such all original cars with so many options.
The original paint is Mist White over Black outside with the Interior in Turquoise and White leather. The front of the car is Black with the Mist White on the Roof and Rear of the car.
